Quick and Easy Microwave Meals and Snacks

Besides the fact that we can heat any dish without burning it, or quickly defrost an already prepared meal, we can also make a very tasty lunch or dinner. Dishes in the microwave can be prepared much faster compared to the time spent cooking on a standard range, and they can be so delicious that the whole family will be delighted. Microwave treats are a great solution when you run out of candy in the house. If you want to surprise your loved ones and want them to really enjoy lunch or dinner, a microwave oven will be of great use to you. With them, you can prepare various desserts in a very short time.

Even guests can’t pop in on you unprepared because some of the delicious microwave dishes can be ready in literally five minutes if you have all the ingredients. In this article, we present to you some of the interesting recipes for making microwave sweets.

2-minute Cupcake

You don't have to be a good chef to make a treat that you and your guests will enjoy. The most beautiful thing about this project is that it will all last a very short time. Just prepare as many cups and ingredients for as many cakes as you want.

2 tablespoons of sugar or substitute,
2 tablespoons of flour,
a pinch of salt,
2 teaspoons of cocoa,
1/4 teaspoon of coffee (powder),
1/8 teaspoon of baking soda,
1/2 teaspoon of white wine vinegar,
1 tablespoon of oil (can be a sunflower, coconut, or palm),
1 tablespoon of water,
1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract and
1-2 tablespoons of chocolate pieces.

Preparation: Lubricate the cup suitable for preparation in the microwave with oil. First, you need to add the dry ingredients and mix them well to combine. Then add all the other ingredients and mix until the mass becomes smooth. Mix the chocolate pieces well to distribute them evenly. Put the cup in the microwave for two minutes. Then take it out and let it stand for about thirty seconds. If you want your cake to be juicier while adding the chocolate pieces, add the additional two tablespoons of water.

Rice Pudding

This dessert is interesting because you make it from rice and very tasty "added ingredients". You need no more than 30 minutes to prepare it, so you will surely have time to relax with your favorite pudding.

Ingredients: 4 ounces of rice,
2 apples,
8 oz water,
2 flat spoons of sugar,
a bag of vanilla sugar,
2 ounces of raisins,
0.5 ounces of butter,
half-a-lemon juice,
3.5 oz sweet sour cream,
17 oz milk,
cinnamon and
a bag of gelatine.

Preparation: First you need to cook rice. Put it in a bowl, add a pinch of salt and pour the water. Cover and cook at maximum microwave power. After three minutes, reduce the volume by half and cook for another 15 minutes. As soon as the time is up, take the rice out of the oven and pour a little milk over it. After that put the butter in the oven for two minutes and heat it to a maximum. Add peeled and chopped apples and raisins to the bowl. Then sprinkle with sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon juice, and sour cream. Add cooked rice to all of this. If necessary, pour milk over it to soak. Cover the bowl and place it in the microwave at 70% of its strength. Cook for 12 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the gelatine according to the instructions, add it to the cooked mixture and cook for another two minutes.

Microwave Muffins

You don't need a mold for this cake, you can store it in a cup. Muffins from the microwave will be ready in just ten minutes, and they will be delicious.

Ingredients per muffin:
4 flat spoons of sugar,
4 tablespoons of flour,
2 tablespoons of cocoa,
half a teaspoon of baking powder,
3 tablespoons of oil,
3 tablespoons of milk,
1 egg,
and vanilla cream for the topping.

Preparation: Put flour, baking powder, sugar, and cocoa in a large cup. Mix well to combine everything. Then add an egg and stir again. When all is well mixed, add milk and oil. Stir until you break lumps. Place the cup in the microwave, turn it on at 850 W and bake for 4 minutes. Take out the baked muffin, leave it to cool for a few minutes, then pour the finished vanilla cream over it. Depending on your taste, you can use other fillings instead of this cream.

Quick Microwave Meals

In addition to preparing desserts, microwaves are very suitable for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Microwave dishes are delicious, and it doesn't take much time to prepare them.

Eggs - breakfast suggestion. Whether it will be scrambled eggs or an omelet depends on your desire. The amount of eggs, of course, depends on your appetite. For preparation, you need a shallow dish suitable for a microwave. You will break the eggs in it and leave them prepared like that. You will do the same for scrambled eggs, only you will whisk and stir them a bit. If you are not sure if the eggs have been fried enough, feel free to remove the pan and stir again. If you're making an omelet you can add ham, cheese, or whatever you like.

Homemade chicken pockets - lunch suggestion
2 chicken breasts,
an ounce of parmesan,
2 tomatoes,
1 red pepper,
4 ounces of some spicy sausage,
and pepper as desired.
For the side dish:
1 cup of rice,
a teaspoon of salt,
2.5 cups of water,
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
and 1/4 teaspoon of curry.

Preparation: Cut the chicken breasts in half, then cut each piece with a knife, but not to the end, so that the meat remains in one piece like a pocket. Add salt and pepper. Cut the red pepper into strips, and the tomato and sausage into rings. If you like it, you can cut these rings into quarters. Grate the cheese. Put the sausage, tomato, red pepper and half grated the cheese (leave the other half for last) in each "pocket" of chicken and arrange the pieces of meat in the baking dish. Put them in the microwave and turn on the highest first, then reduce after a few minutes. The dish will be baked in about fifteen minutes. Finally, sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the chicken and bake.
Side dish: In a ceramic or another bowl suitable for a microwave oven, put rice, pour hot water over it and add spices. Stir and turn on the oven for 15 minutes at 800 W. Serve with chicken pockets.

Roasted marinated mackerel - dinner suggestion.

3 mackerels,
1 lemon,
1 oz olive oil,
1/2 teaspoon of pepper,
bay leaf,
2-3 cloves of garlic and a little garlic powder,
Himalayan salt as you prefer.

Preparation: Clean the mackerel, remove the heads and tails, cut in half lengthwise, and pour over the marinade you made from the listed ingredients. The fish should stay in the marinade for at least 1-2 hours. You can prepare it the night before and, keep it in the marinade in the refrigerator until it is ready. Before baking, remove the mackerel from the marinade and place it on the grate in the microwave. Serve it warm.

Microwave Pizza

Simply, unpack the frozen pizza dough and put it in the oven for a few minutes. After that, take out the dough, coat it with ketchup, and put the ingredients you want on it - ham, mushrooms, olives, maybe an egg. Put it back into the microwave for a few more minutes. In the end, add the grated cheese and leave it in the oven for another half a minute. Simple as that.

Baked Potatoes or French Fries

Potatoes are another item that can be quickly and easily prepared in the microwave. It is recommended to choose potatoes of similar size. Wash them well and dry them with a paper towel. Be sure to pierce each one with a fork to keep them from popping. Arrange them in a baking dish, but next to each other, so that the rays can reach every piece. Turn the oven to maximum and bake for 11 minutes. If the microwave is more powerful than 700 - 800 W, then you will need less time. You can check if the potatoes are baked with a fork. If not, bake them as long as it takes.

In addition to this way of preparing potatoes, you can also bake French fries in the microwave quickly. Cut the potatoes, add salt, and spices if desired, and pour two to three tablespoons of oil. Place them in a baking dish. Turn the oven to maximum and bake for a few minutes. Take out the French fries, turn them over and bake for a few more minutes.

You can also store frozen French fries in the same way, except that you should defrost the French fries first, and then season them in the oven. If you don't want to use oil, you don't have to put it. It's delicious and healthy without it.

Mac and Cheese

1/2 cup of pasta,
a little salt (1/5 teaspoon),
1/2 cup of water,
1/2 cup of grated cheese and
1/4 cup of milk.

Preparation: In a deep bowl, suitable for a microwave, put the pasta and salt, and pour the water. Turn the oven to maximum and cook for two minutes. Remove, stir and repeat the process until the pasta is cooked through. Stir every 2 minutes. Depending on the microwave, it takes 4-8 minutes for the pasta to be cooked. When the pasta is ready, add milk and cheese. Return to the oven and heat for 30 seconds until the cheese is melted. Stir the pasta before each cooking. If you like your pasta juicier, add more milk and cheese.
